Date: Tuesday, 17 November 2026 · Time: 11:00–12:00 SAST · Format: online, hosted by the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI)
This session explores how AI is transforming financial advisory services and addresses the limitations of traditional AI models when working with live financial data, privacy requirements and disconnected systems. Participants will gain an understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables secure connections between AI, data sources and business tools.
Through practical examples, the session demonstrates how AI can support portfolio analysis, compliance checks and client reporting while maintaining data security. A neutral, open-source demonstration shows how MCP retrieves and processes information to deliver real-time insights. The session concludes with best practices for adopting AI in advisory workflows and a live Q&A.
